Our Story

Isabella and Ben’s story began in Tampa, where their paths crossed somewhat unexpectedly online. Isabella, a Tampa native, and Ben, originally from Charleston, were brought together while Ben was living and working in the city.

One of their first dates started with Mass at Isabella’s home parish, and carried on to dinner at one of her favorite Tampa restaurants, which Ben had chosen without knowing its significance to her. It was an early sign of how readily each of them would take up what the other loved, and of the faith that has been part of their relationship from the beginning.

In the time since, their lives have been filled with a blend of each other’s favorite traditions and places, from fly fishing in Jackson Hole and Waterfest in Beaufort with Ben’s closest friends, to evenings around the table playing mahjong with Isabella’s family and friends. They have also embraced one of their few important differences. Ben’s loyalty to Clemson and Isabella’s to Alabama make for a house divided every autumn, and the marriage is expected to survive it, provided the two never meet in January.

On July 3, 2026, Ben proposed in Deer Valley, Utah, a place especially close to Isabella’s heart after years of skiing there with her family. The proposal was a complete surprise, made even more meaningful by the presence of both of their families, who had gathered to celebrate the occasion. Soon after their engagement, they moved to Salt Lake City for Ben’s career, beginning a new chapter together in a place that had already become part of their story.

When choosing where to be married, Palm Beach felt like a natural choice. Isabella grew up on the Florida coast, and Ben, who had never been, found in its timeless architecture, understated elegance, and distinctly preppy character the perfect setting for their wedding weekend. It is the rare place in their story that belongs to neither of them yet, and they will come to know it together, alongside everyone who travels there to celebrate with them.
